This is not an official USGBC Louisiana event but is something we want to share with you.

On behalf of Tulane University’s School of Architecture and the City of New Orleans’ Office of Resilience and Sustainability, you are invited to a day-long symposium on energy benchmarking, covering a wide range of topics related to energy management in a local and regional context. Feel free to share this invitation with anyone you think might be interested in the content below.

Buildings that track energy use achieve an average of 7% energy savings.  If we track the performance of a building like we track the miles per gallon on a car, we gain power that impacts our economic decisions.  Benchmarking (i.e., monitoring and measuring) energy use gives building engineers and facility operators valuable information about how the air conditioning, heating, lighting and other systems are functioning.

At this Energy Benchmarking Symposium, national experts will provide insights into building optimization strategies, and implementers from Orlando and Atlanta will share their experiences about benchmarking standards in those cities. Symposium attendees will include building professionals, academics, engineers, nonprofit leaders, government staff, and property managers.
