FORWARD Educator Scholarship Application

FORWARD, USGBC Louisiana’s Symposium on Sustainability is a one-day educational event on Friday, May 12, 2017 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

FORWARD is designed to bring the diverse industry and community leaders together to discuss what is happening in the sustainability world, what work is going on in Louisiana, and what is coming in the future.

The Women in Sustainability Empower Breakfast will focus on the Women Pioneers of Louisiana's Environmental Movement with Jennifer Abraham Cramer, Director of the T. Harry Williams Center for Oral History.  It will be a very inspirational morning!

After the Women’s Breakfast, there will be a 1.5 hour workshop for teachers and students.  This workshop will be an opportunity for K-12 educators to share stories and ideas about greening your school.  We will be joined by a special guest, Dr. Jennifer Seydel, Executive Director of the Green Schools National Network.  Dr. Seydel has over 35 years of experience designing and promoting green schools and is a national leader in the Green Schools Movement.

These two events are separate events.  You do not have to attend one to attend the other. Scholarships are available for up to 30 female K-12 administrators, teachers, and High School girls to attend the breakfast. This survey serves as your application to attend free of charge.  The breakfast will begin at 7:30 am and the workshop will begin at 9:00 am and wrap up by 10:30 am.

This survey is for female K-12 administrators, teachers, and High School students only. Applications are due by Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

Each school may apply for up to three teachers and/or administrators and up to three high school students.  Only one person from each school needs to complete this application. Seats will be filled on a fist come, first served basis.
